Core Competency Framework of the Graduate Institute of Gerontechnology
The Graduate Institute of Gerontechnology, MacKay Medical University follows the University’s educational foundations of the four core competencies: “Reverence for Heaven, Compassion for Others,” “Social and Environmental Responsibility,” “Humanistic Care,” and “Team Spirit,” representing the dimensions of Heaven, Earth, People, and Mind.
Building upon the professional characteristics of gerontechnology, the Institute further develops four core competencies: “Respect for Aging and Life,” “Gerontechnology for Well-being,” “Humanistic Care,” and “Interdisciplinary Co-Creation.” These competencies serve as the fundamental framework for curriculum design, teaching activities, and learning outcome assessment.
This competency framework adopts a top-down alignment approach, ensuring a comprehensive connection with the University’s vision and educational philosophy. It further links to the Institute’s five core professional competencies, establishing a systematic, structured, and assessable model for competency development and talent cultivation.
