Alignment with National Policies and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The development strategies of the Graduate Institute of Gerontechnology, MacKay Medical University are highly aligned with national policies on smart healthcare and long-term care. The Institute also actively responds to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by making concrete contributions in areas including health, innovation, and sustainable communities.

1. National-Level Alignment

The Institute responds to national priorities related to an aging society, smart healthcare, digital health, and long-term care policies, contributing to the advancement and implementation of smart welfare technology services.

2. Alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

(1) SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being
Promoting health and well-being across all stages of life through innovative approaches in gerontechnology and healthcare.

(2) SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Developing aging-supportive technologies and smart infrastructures to foster innovation and improve quality of life for older adults.

(3) SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities
Creating age-friendly, inclusive, and sustainable living environments that support healthy and independent aging.

(4) SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals
Strengthening collaboration among government, industry, academia, and research sectors to promote interdisciplinary cooperation and integrated governance.

Through these efforts, the Institute aims to advance gerontechnology innovation, cultivate interdisciplinary professionals, and contribute to the development of a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable aging society.
